Who Am I Living For? - Reflections of my heart

I get so overwhelmed... feel like I am drowning in diapers, laundry (insert laugh here for those of you who have seen the sea of laundry at my house), to-do lists, and my own expectations. It's so easy for me to loose sight of who I am living for. Today I read a friends blog and she inspired me to reflect on my own heart and I was discouraged by what I found. There is a daily struggle between who I am and who I want to be. Surrendering Who I am living for doesn't just happen... It's an intentional choice. Today - I failed to stand in HIS grace... Today - I failed to share HIS grace with others...

"Change the thoughts, and you change the person. If today's thoughts are tomorrow's actions, what happens when we fill our minds with thoughts of God's love? Will standing beneath the downpour of his grace change the way we feel about others? Paul says absolutely" - Max Lucado

So tonight I stop... I stop to breathe... I stop to listen... I stop to choose - Who I AM living for. Tonight I choose to stand in HIS grace so that I can become who I want to be.
*A faithful follower full of patience, gentleness, and self control
*A loving wife full of unconditional admiration and respect for my hubby
*A Momma filled with patience, wisdom and love
*A better daughter, sister and friend
Take a moment for yourself... listen to this song... stop and think... Katy Perry's dad was a pastor and she started out her journey as a gospel singer she later wrote this song about her struggle.

The heart of This Momma- My own sweet ones

You my sweet girl... you inspire me!!!

In the quietness of our home... I steal a moment to reflect... to be thankful... to enjoy. To enjoy my life just as it is - the chaos of raising young ones. Never in a million years did I think being a momma would feel like this... Xhillerating & Exhausing at the exact same moment...

Ryder continues to be my love bug!!! I have never seen so many smiles from a baby! Every look from him melts my heart. I find myself getting wrapped up in him because his smile just brightens my days. I often take moments just to hold his sweetness and sing, laugh, and take him in... I just noticed tonight he has so much more hair then he did before... I think he's going to be a blondie. He is rolling over onto his tummy already and HATES it. He is also drooling like crazy - His first tooth broke through on friday (his lower lateral incisor - O - for all of my dental friends :) He is still puking every feeding but he continues to be what the docs call a happy puker so they aren't going to do anything for him... we just wear puke shields and change his outfits often! I wish I could say that he was sleeping through the night... but nope he's not (although if he did I would be worried about his teen years because he would just be way too perfect)

Rhian is such a great big sister... tonight she blessed my heart in the car as Ryder was crying and she kept saying in a comforting tone... "It's ok baby, momma is here"

Ah my little Rhian... When did she become a real kid? Her favorite line right now is "Momma, I do it" She shocks me with all of her hew words and concepts. Uncle Jordan asked her if she wanted to go swimming in the pool as it was hailing and storming outside... she replied "sure".... after he asked her a couple of similar questions all resulting in a "yes" he asked her if she even understood what he was saying... And she nodded her head and said "yes... go swim?" She totally understood and just wanted to jump right in.

She continues to adore babies... Ryder, Shelby, Ava... I just love how she loves others, She says hello to everyone we meet and makes friends everywhere we go. I love the little light in her heart.
She had another huge accomplishment... she climbed up the Mcdonald's play-land thingy and slid down all by herself...
As she is growing so do the challenges for me as her momma. I think we are bit too much alike... And parenting a 2 year old isn't easy... it is a delicate balance between discipline and grace with a whole lot of prayer!
We had a little household accident two weeks ago and I am tearfully grateful for protection over her. She bravely had her staples removed from her little head, which I think actually may have been worse for me.

They inspire me... to want to be a better momma...
They inspire me... to love their Daddy more...
They inspire me... to be more thankful...
They inspire me... behind the camera...
They inspire my heart!

The treasures (chair and bread box) were found at the lovely Green Pea Boutique in Escalon, Ca. They always have such beautiful things!!! Stop by and tell Sandi hi...

Little Ones - Ehrler Family

I am loving a little photography playtime... Maybe that's why I love what I do so much. I get to play with kids! We hid in the tall spring grass, watered the flowers with pretend water and bounced around the hillside.

My studio is the great outdoors which means the sky is the limit... literally :) I specialize in natural light photography which means we get outside and get to enjoying the world around us. The beauty of capturing kids outdoors is that I encourage them to just play which creates an authentic environment for them to just be as they are. Full of life and having fun which transfers right into their photos. My goal is to make it as fun and stress free for the littles ones and for parents too!

We are now scheduling outdoor sessions for May and June. You're invited to check out our complete portfolio at www.recollectphoto.com and I would love to personally chat with you and talk about how to create your own unique photo shoot for your family!

Inspiration Found...
I am always looking for inspiration... One place that I continue to find it is at the...

The Green Pea Antique Boutique
1802 Main Street
Escalon, CA 95320-1920
(209) 838-1913

Sandi, the boutique owner, has such an eye for antiques and I adore her taste especially for a bit of shabby chic treasures! I found both chairs from this photo shoot in her shop and quite a few more props from other shoots that I will post soon. (keep and eye out for them)
Her shop is filled with so many cute things that I just can't get enough. She is continually adding new treasures to her collection! We are also doing a drawing in her shop to win a photo shoot (value of $250) So stop on by... tell her that I said hi... enjoy all of her fun stuff... and enter in our drawing.

Little Ones - The Swier Family

I was so thankful to meet The Swier Family at our booth at the Almond Blossom Festival. I just love how these photos turned out! The lighting was warm and beautiful and each little one captured my attention in such different ways! I will have to say that by far my favorite photo is this first one of the two of them... There's something about a little sibling love that melts my heart! You can't pose love like that!

Happy Birthday sweet girl!

Kevin and Lori... Thank you so much for letting me capture your little ones! I hope you love your photos and had a great experience. I can't wait to set up another birthday shoot in June!

Thanks,
Kori
