{Capturing Family Connections

We had a fun afternoon... filled with laughter and smiles as we soaked up all of the beautiful warmth of the sun. Brea and Kait wanted to capture some fun family moments with their Aunt and Uncle before they take off for their adventures abroad.

This photo on the bench is one of my favorite photos from the shoot because it was a real life moment for them... they were able to steal a few moments from the day and catch up on life with each other as I took a step back to capture their moment for them.

I just love these two! How can you not adore them and their carefreeness? Is "carefreeness" even a word? Not quite sure but you still get the idea! Sweet Bliss!

Love... Love... Love the Lee Wedding

The Lee Wedding was such a special day! My heart was blessed as I worked with Daniel Sumptner to capture it for Jared and Carisah. They were a stunning couple as their eyes were filled with love... adoration... and anticipation as they said "I DO."

Love... their first look. Such a magical moment!

Their entire day was so reflective of who they are as people! Full of love... laughter... and smiles!

Carisah was such a beautiful bride! She is captivating on the inside as well as on the outside! Her hair and makeup were done by the talented Becky Yarbrough. Becky can be reached at 209-404-9558 or

Their special day and marriage was surrounded by love and prayer...

Love... Their first kiss as Mr. & Mrs. Lee

I had never seen this game done before at a wedding and it was fun for everyone. There was a series of questions about who was more likely too... ( spend more time doing their hair, call mom from the honeymoon, want babies first, etc) and Jared and Carisah had to hold up the shoe for who they thought it was. It kept everyone laughing for sure!

Love... Their first dance

Shazam - Act of Service

For the last few years I have heard my Dad mention taking Shazam ( our family dog ) to the VA clinic in Livermore through the Pet Therapy Program. Shazam has always been a snuggly... bouncy... and lovey dog, while her health hasn't been the greatest my dad continues to take her to visit men and women who have served our country well. I wasn't quite sure what to expect as I loaded the kids up and headed out the door to an award ceremony for Shazam and other dogs with their handlers. I was a bit taken back... as I saw channel 5 news there to cover the story... followed by a congressman there to share a few words... and finished with the Vice-mayor of Livermore who gave certificates and metals to the dogs for their hours of service. The part of the day that got me thinking the most... wasn't the "big" names there... but it hit me how important the pet therapy program is when as each dog was given their award a veteran shared a few words of how each specific K-9 had impacted their lives... Some of these Combat Veteran Soldiers could barely complete their words as they were overcome with emotion. For these Veterans... man's best friend offered to them what many people couldn't - unconditional love and affection. Many of the Veterans who are visited by the furry friends have had life altering injuries and the dogs are able to meet an element of companionship. I was proud of my Dad and his commitment to bring Shazam to the VA clinic as a small thank you for the incredible sacrifice our military people have given.
I was also challenged in my thinking... I think it is so easy to go about our days and enjoy our lives... our families... our homes... our incredible freedom and not stop to think about how it is that we are able to enjoy such things. We are able to enjoy such things because men and women... make heroic sacrifices everyday.

Hoekstra Lil' guy

You may remember the name Erika Hoekstra from our October Blog posts... she was the winner of our " Ripon Main Street Day" Contest! They won a photo shoot with CD of high resolution digital proofs included (a value of $250). We went out for a little walk today and enjoyed the beautiful sun and a bit of warmth in the air... and I was enthralled by this lil' guy and his animated smiles! Check them out for yourself... I couldn't keep myself from smiling as I took in his lil' smile.

Be sure to check back next week some time as we share some "big" news... and I think I feel a give-a-way coming on!!! We would love you to join our blog followers... and catch up on all of our lifestyle portraits as they happen!
